The Focke-Wulf Fw 200C-4 Condor was originally developed as a long-range civilian airliner but was quickly adapted by the Luftwaffe for military use during World War II. Its large size, relatively slow speed, and structural weaknesses under combat loads made it a growing liability in contested airspace. Nevertheless, the Condor remained in service until late in the war, used for transport, maritime patrol, and liaison duties. Its legacy remains as one of the most impactful maritime patrol aircraft of the early war years.
